83% of buyers search online before buying anything.

Did you know?

You might have the best-looking website, a clean logo, and the best product or service among your competitors.

Buuuuuuuuut…

…if you are hiding on the 8th page of Google, you are done for.

Chances are, you’ve heard website gurus talk about SEO, backlinks, keywords, or other fancy terms.

When I first got introduced to all this SEO stuff, I was confused—just like anybody would be reading about super complicated things.

In this guide, I’ll clear things up and show you how to get your business on the 1st page of Google.

No fancy terms, technical jargon, or hypothetical scenarios.

This is a simple 4-step actionable plan that you can use to get in front of that 83% as soon as today.

What People Actually Search for…

An adorable, small pug puppy.

A friend of yours gifted this to you today. And so, your next mission is to learn how to parent this tiny thing…

…What would be the first thing that pops into your mind?

“What do these things even eat?”

You might have a rough idea, but you don’t actually know, so you go on Google and type something along the lines of:

“Dog food for young puppies…”

This is what we call a keyword.

You need to find out what people actually search for when looking for you and your service—and use those words on your website.

Easy, right?

Be careful not to stuff everything with these. Just use them in your headlines, your first paragraphs, and a couple more times along the page.

It lets Google know you are talking about the right subject.

The good news?

Finding what people type when searching for your service is now easier than ever.

Tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, and Exploding Topics can help you find what your customers actually search for—so you can use those words effectively.

The Two Magic Words That Will Solve All of Your Problems…

Don’t get me wrong.

“Please” and “Thank you” will take you places—but they won't take you to the first page.

What I’m talking about is search intent.

What is this?

Let’s go back to you being a new puppy father…

…or mother, your choice.

You search for something like: “Organic dog food for…”

Chances are you’re not hovering over your phone’s screen holding your card or wallet.

You’re just looking for information or browsing around.

“What’s in this organic stuff?”

“Is it more expensive than the average dog food?”

“Do they have different flavors?”

Results that match that intent would answer questions like these.

Maybe it’s a blog post about the benefits of organic dog food compared to others.

Or maybe a shop that features the best food for each breed.

Want to know what would appear on the later pages?

A super salesy page that promotes their brand. And that isn’t because the page is bad, the pitch isn’t strong enough, or because Google has beef with the owner…

…It’s because Google knows that it’s not the best-fit result for that search.

3 Golden Rules For Great Content

Many people just infuse their content with aaaaaaall the keyword steroids.

Use them every two or three lines just to make sure…

…One or two years back, you might’ve been able to get away with it.

Today, you WON’T!

And the reason is really simple.

Whenever I search for: “How to get on the first page of Google…”

I don’t want to see huge blogs about the importance of SEO, keywords, or other fancy terms.

I don’t want to read three full scrolls of your text-heavy intro on why Google is the best engine to optimize your page for…

…And I surely don’t want to see the same “Secret tips and tricks” I saw in the last five pages.

If people can’t stay for longer than 3 seconds on your page, don’t expect to be ranked anywhere near the top.

If you want people to enjoy visiting your page here is what you have to do:

  1. Be unique. Don’t just copy-paste the work of others.

If people read the same stuff on the previous page, don’t expect them to stick around.

Make sure whatever you post has your personal touch.

  1. Offer all the value right up front.

Don’t hide the sweet stuff behind huge intros and promo offers.

The faster you give people what they want, the better.

It lets them know they’re in the right place.

  1. Make things simple and easy to go through.

Tolkien-sized chunks of text and complicated terms are not the way.

Write like you’re talking to a toddler.

Hard to read = Won’t read.

How To Get Backlinks the Simple Way…

To put it simply, backlinks mean other people link your stuff in their content.

If you’ve read this guide up to now, you already know how to create link-worthy content.

They call this method:

“Be the source.”

  • Keep your post unique.

  • Focus on providing quality content, not keyword stuffing.

  • Front-load the value.

  • Make sure it’s easy for people to go through your site and content.

Make sure your page aligns with these 4 things and you’re golden!

There are plenty of ways to do this, and it’s doable for every single business—yours included.
